Sustainable development

In the course of its actions in favour of sustainable development, Axialys supports Planète Urgence's reforestation program, and more particularly the
"One Euro = One Tree" program.

En 2009, Axialys s’est déjà engagé dans le développement durable avec ses solutions de conference call et de fax par mail qui participent à la protection de l’environnement.

Since 1st March 2009, for any order placed on its online sales site , www.axiatel com, Axialys pays one euro to the association Planète Urgence. This operation applies to conference call and fax by e-mail products sold on www.axiatel.com.

Planète Urgence, a General-Interest association under the 1901 law, non-political and nondenominational.

Founded in 2000 and geared towards environmental action, Planète Urgence is one of the few French NGOs to work simultaneously on issues of sustainable development and environmental protection in poor countries. Its end goal is to fight the destruction of the planet and inequalities between the global North and South.

In order to carry out its actions, Planète Urgence has developed an innovative cooperative model: Congé Solidaire, a program that lets any citizen with (or without) the help of his or her company, to go off on an international cooperative mission during his or her vacation.

In order to complete its actions, Planète Urgence develops special programs:

  • The Teaching Kits project for underprivileged children,
  • "Climate change and sustainable development" programs.

8 years of environmental actions (2000-2008)

Involved in 25 countries on and 3 continents (Africa, Asia, and South America)

Contribution of €4 million of concrete environmental assistance for our local partners and €3 million of financial contributions.

"Reforestation goal: 6 million trees replanted in 2012

Planète Urgence lets individuals and companies offset their CO2 emissions by financing reforestation projects, in order to fight climate change, restore ecosystems, and protect the world's most fragile populations.

This campaign has received the support of the United Nations Program for the Environment, and Wangari Maathai, 2004 winner of the Nobel Peace Prize.

The 2012 goal is to plan 6 million trees in Indonesia and Mali

Reforestation has a dual impact, both ecological and economic.

In order to complete its actions, Planète Urgence develops special programs:
Besides its role as an oxygen producer, forests help maintain spaces, protect the soil, and restore natural and climate balances.

Reforestation makes it possible to trap carbon - this is called sequestration - and therefore contribute to fighting climate change.
Replanted trees will constitute a protective barrier against the expansion of the desert in Mali.
In Indonesia, the replanted mangrove will protect against tsunamis and the erosion of the coast resulting from a rise in sea levels.

The use of these renewed forests means business and sustainable job creation for inhabitants: fishing in the mangroves, beekeeping, or growing fruits and vegetables etc.
Reforestation must respect the pre-existing natural model: conserving biodiversity and protecting endangered species are thereby ensured.
